The 15 texts were organized based on these mysteries because most believers get near God when they are worried about a serious health problem, or in order to find a hope that life continues after the death of the body.

About these three mysteries everyone should give himself the chance of getting informed in depth in order to improve his reflection quality on them.

As it was already mentioned, reflection on these matters is especially important for interfaith marriages because, for their particular condition of being Inter-faith they are more willing and in need of making their own road of questions and answers, and of building a belief and ritual system that is common to them, and in which they can bring up their children.

It is convenient that this reflection road is made by the members of an interfaith couple. In order to do it better, as sincerely as possible, it is convenient that they are advised by a psychologist skilled in the matter of interfaith marriages. In the cases in which they are believers, it shall also be beneficial for them to ask for the opinion of a priest of their respective religious congregation.

In general, the members of an interfaith marriage have got personality characteristics that allow them to reflect on these matters with less dogmatism, with an open mind, and with creativity, otherwise they would not have been able to build an interfaith marriage.

Only the fact that they are members of an interfaith marriage generally develops in the man and in the woman a different, inter-faith and multi-cultural integrating view. This is a process that generally occurs gradually, whereby frequently each member of the couple many times does not realize. That different and open view that they acquire creates a more favorable possibility of going beyond the usual limits, and making a more severe search for questions and answers of a better reflection quality. That is why, from that view, the contributions that these people can make to society are especially interesting. In these marriages, their members have a valuable chance, some people take advantage of it, others do not, to improve the quality of their reflections on the aforementioned matters.

NON-interfaith couples generally do not need to make that search, they accept as their own the questions and answers that the cultural-religious frame of their group of origin, in which they were raised and brought up, offers to them.   In that social environment the behaviors expected from each person and from each couple for each circumstance of life are already given, those rules are many times severe and meticulous, playing a social role of homogenizing within the group, and of distinguishing the group from other groups.

Each person, whether he believes or not, whether he forms an interfaith marriage or not, should seek in his life to improve the quality of his questions about transcendental matters, about God and the great mysteries. Doing so, from a rational thinking, creates a process of development of questions, thanks to which their quality is improved. This process develops the spirit, the intellect, improves human condition, and the capacity to tolerate and live together with someone who has other beliefs.

When traveling along the road to improve questions, believers and non-believers discover that the space of mystery is common to them.

Reflecting on the three aforementioned mysteries, with an open mind, without prejudices, getting informed about the new concepts and elements of judgment that arose in the recent years from scientific experiences, that are set forth in these texts, is the most beautiful, moving and pleasant adventure that can exist for the human mind. Those who do so can notice that the space of mystery is much richer, more complex, astonishing and fascinating than most people think, and that before it all of us are equally ignorant. It is an arrogant, childish and silly attitude of a group, whether it is scientific or religious, to believe that it has all the answers, and based on that false certainty, which is actually only an illusory certainty, discriminate others who are black, Jewish, interfaith marriages, etc., and even encouraging due to that alleged certainty to be willing to kill or die taking a fundamentalist religious attitude.

The efforts made by people to solve the problems raised by everyday life, especially financial ones, generally causes them not to notice how important it is to pay attention to transcendental matters. Most people are born and die without having spent the necessary time to get suitably informed about them, without trying to reflect with the best quality possible on the great mysteries, so they die without giving themselves the chance of developing one of the most important dimensions of their human condition.

About the matter of the special potentialities of interfaith marriages to reflect on God, from a text about Canon Marital Law, by Jose Ramon Arrieta Ochoa de Chinchetru, Doctor of Canon Law, entitled “Interfaith Marriage of Catholic party and Muslim party”, we extract and textually set forth below some phrases, because we consider them wise, and because they are valid for all interfaith marriages, whichever are the spouses’ religions of origin:

… “if they conscientiously and maturely decide to go on, these couples (interfaith marriages) must take pride in a very special creativity; which is already itself a great enrichment. And they can be an enrichment of the human and religious communities that testify that particularisms, the narrowness of sight, racisms of any kind in short, can be overcome. It is desirable that some interfaith homes shall become aware of a mission of reconciliation and of peace that shall become rooted in their own existence”…

- The greater the police’s and the judges’ efficiency in a society, and the more severe the penalties, the greater the possibilities that the percentage of believers who commit crimes is higher, relative to the number of crimes committed by non-believers (“paradoxical effect of religious moral”). Sociological and psychological explanation of this effect. It is a mistake to believe that necessarily the more a population believes the less crimes there are.

- Believers, in God’s name, gave rise to bloody wars.

- The old and new testaments, and texts of other religions, have got many contents that are important ethical contributions, but they have also got stories that describe a God with actions and wishes that are morally unacceptable, analyzed from today’s ethics.

SUBJECT “B”

What possibilities exist that life continues or does not continue after the death of the physical body?

An analysis from a non-religious rationality.

At all times the stories of ghosts, specters, apparitions that communicate through mediums and other methods, have been considered as real experiences or hallucinations (by mythical trance, drugs, pathologies, fabulations, or frauds). Whichever is the truth, the permanence over time of these stories has reflected people’s uneasiness to explain what happens after the death of the physical body. 

Believing that there is nothing after death or that there is something, conditions the religious and political belief system of each person, and  of society.  

Recently, for the first time in the history of humanity, scientific investigations have been made in order to find out whether there really is a continuity of life after the death of the body. In these texts the author does not give his personal opinion because he considers that it is a more important contribution to readers to offer them reflections and complete information, that most people do not know, about the contributions of the latest scientific investigations about this matter.  

In the books that deal with the matter, a position is generally set forth, in favor of or against the possibility that there is a continuity of life after the death of the body. In our texts confronted arguments of the two positions are set forth:
